Search - Find your area of interest by typing a placename into the Location Search box in the tools panel.
Navigate - Drag the map around with your mouse.
Use the controls in the top-left corner of the map to zoom to your
place of interest.
Feature information - Click any soil feature to view
a summary of its key properties.
Click a soil name in the summary table to download a
full factsheet describing that soil.
Help - Click the Help button to see this menu.

The maps and information you can view and download from this website are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-No Derivative Works 3.0 New Zealand License (BY-ND).
This licence allows redistribution, commercial and non-commercial of the maps and factsheets, as long as they are passed along unchanged and whole, with credit to Landcare Research. The full terms of the licence are available here.

Use this facility to create printable PDF maps in A4 and A3 size and in portrait or landscape layout.
The extent of your map is shown by the orange box. Click on the box and drag it around to change the geographic location of your map.
Changing the scale or paper size will affect the amount of detail or the size of the geographic area that will appear on the map.
The maps can include any map title.
This map generation process may take a few minutes.
